I spent weeks researching, and after reading numerous glowing reviews, from consumers, and professionals, it seems Canon PowerShot A series are one of the best, in their class for features. please take a look at this ,

and the image quality, is superb, This camera is a great point an shoot camera, but it also has loads of additional functions,within the cameras manual mode, that makes it a cut above the rest in it's class.





Some of this camera's many features include, face recognition, red eye fix , image stabiliser, movie mode, it can even be used under water, ( with the aid of separate casing) to many to mention here. but really a top little camera, for the money

Reply:You don't say what you want it for - snapshots or serious photography. Looks ok to me, but you would be best to visit the shop and ask to hold a few cameras in your price range, to see which you were comfortable with. Also, check if the camera includes a memory card or would that be extra. I bought a bigger camera but couldn't take pictures until I bought a memory card for it. (not cheap)
Reply:Get along to Aldi they have a great camera there for £60.
Reply:It should be OK for most everday purposes. The only thing it seems to be missing is an optical viewfinder which you may find useful from time to time, eg in bright sunshine when the screen is difficult to see.





Have a look at a Canon A570 for comparison.
