Christmas Tree? Help me decide!!!?

Which to pick? We have a small terraced house, and can't have an real tree as we have a cat, a dog and crawling, toddling grabby 1 year old so the pine needles would be a big no-no!

A 5ft Green "Aspen" Tree: from Argos -

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa...

(Smaller, more natural looking, cheaper)

Or a 6ft pre-lit white tree (can't find a pic of it online but its lit with blue LED lights) - a bit more expensive and don't know if I can justify spending that much on a Christmas tree when theres pressies to buy also!

I can't decide!!! I wanted a nice tall tree this year but my other half doesn't want anything too big as our house is quite small . . .

Christmas Tree? Help me decide!!!?
Small tree on a table to high for the one year old to pull down if she/he is cruising or walking. But low enough for them to see and admire. That's what I did when we were in the exact same situation. We had a smallish pretty pretendy tree. One year we had a very small live one. But then you have to worry about if it lives or dies afterwards.

I hope you all have a lovely time. xx
Reply:get the argos one, unless you cant be bothered to do your own lights.
Reply:Take this into account when buying your tree -- next year your other half will not want to get a real tree either, and you will be reusing the tree you purchase this year -- so get the largest and best one you can, because they do last for a few years and that alone can justify the cost. I spent almost three hundred on my tree and this is it's third year and it is just as beautiful as it was the first year. So that is something to think about. Also watch the sales -- personally I am not crazy about blue lights on a Christmas tree, I prefer the white lights as it gives off a much more subtle glow.
Reply:My sister had a white one with lights and it only lasted one christmas, stick to the other one !!!
Reply:Get the argos one, I think you'd get sick of the white tree with blue lights after a while.

Are there any books for fitnesss techniques.. which is easy to read and simple eg: sections for your bum, arms.

Are there any books for fitnesss techniques.. which is easy to read and simple eg: sections for your bum, arms.
hi, i don't think a book will be good for illustrating an exercise. Because it will not show you the step by step procedure of what to do.. Try to buy a video, i actually would recommend WINSOR PILATES if you want to tighten your bum. I did lose weight by diet and exercise combined. Dieting means not fasting, ok? I eat fresh veggies during dinner and (because I live in the Philippines), i minimize eating rice, because it's a carload of carbohydrates...Exercising is for toning your body. As you go on a diet, some skin will hang lose so you need to tone and tighten them up. In three weeks, you will see great results. My shoulders and bums and legs tighter, and with my height of 4'10", i have looked slender and taller and slim. This is from my own experience. You just need discipline, you know. The Winsor Pilates has a video for beginners. Try it!

If you have a cooler, i.e. air conditioner instead of a swamp cooler, either you have no refrigerant left or your system had a leak.

Open the back and check, if the compressor is warm/ hot to touch...

Mikomi LCDW19HD....720 OR 1080?

Hi,

I was wondering if anybody knew if the Mikomi LCDW19HD TV is full HD (1080) or only 720 lines?

Thanks for any help!

:)

Link to the TV @ Argos...

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa...

Mikomi LCDW19HD....720 OR 1080?
To conform to the European HD Ready specification it must be capable of displaying 720p/1080i 50Hz and have an HDMI input.

As this set claims to be HD Ready then you can be satisfied that it meets the required specification or Argos would be committing an Offence.

Looking at the description I would say that it is quite ok. in this respect. It may even display 1080p pictures, which is best for fast action video gaming from the latest consoles.

Beware of cheap tv sets though. Make sure that the on-set buttons always work. Some of them cannot be tuned when in Freeview mode except by use of the remote control. That would be a real pain if the remote was lost or broken.

Also, they tend to have limited angle of view: that is, unless you're sitting almost directly in front of it you may not get a good picture.
Reply:This TV does not have a Digital Tuner inside and will require you to make another purchase so you can receive HD channels.

Going off the resolution it is 720p.

This TV is a progressive scanning TV not an interlaced scanning TV.

This TV is HD Ready which means you will need a HD Set Top Box to receive HDTV channels.

Girls whats the best one shaver for bikini line???

Girls whats the best one shaver for bikini line???
Shaving gel and a razor - those shavers don't get close enough

*EDIT Exfoliate before you shave and once you have finished put cold water on the area to close the pores - as long as you exfoliate you shouldn't get an ingrowing hairs - I have done this for many years and have never suffered from them
Reply:forget about shaving and try waxing.
Reply:i wouldn't buy one of those its a waste of money. Just use your regular shaver with shaving gel or cream, thats what i do and it works fine. i use a Venus
Reply:I would say the first one since it's smaller and can get the hard spots
Reply:oooooh dont shave wax everytime you make my eyes water
Reply:Get waxed. It's a million times better.
Reply:the first one, its smaller so its easier to use on such a small place

the second one is better for something like your legs
Reply:just use Immac
Reply:I actually use a guys razor. It's the gillette fusion. It has 5 blades, and 2 strips that keep it moisturized. It works like a charm. But here's a little extra advice that will save your life. Ever have a problem with razor burn?? Well all you do after you shave it get out of the shower, dry yourself off, and then take some dove deordrant, it doesn't matter what scent, as long as it's not gell, and just rub that over the area you shaved, and even on the outter part of your 'little girl'. Not only does this help with razor burn, but it also leaves a fresh smell all day long.
Reply:I use a triple blade razor and shaving cream, that I took from my BF..

And also, his Norelco triple-header electric shaver....

Anyone use an indoor antenna for freeview? And does it work good?

I live very close to the glasgow city centre (Less than a mile) so I'm guessing the area should get strong reception (How do I find where the nearest transmiter is?). Also on the freeview website it says reception is good so will an indoor antenna work?

How about this one:

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa...

Anyone use an indoor antenna for freeview? And does it work good?
I work at Best Buy, in Home Theater, and Im a HT Pro2, meaning Im certified.

.. ..we have about 10 open time Indoor Antennas. meaning people bought them, and then returned them because they didnt work.

BUT a lot of it has to do with location. If u buy one, keep the reciept!
Reply:my isiter uses one at her flat and its fine. i think you may find that it will work better in some parts of the house than others eg.upstairs (though it may be fine throughout the house)

if you do try one and have problems, consider using a booster, our aeriel is outdoor but when we first tried freeview the reception was terrible, we only got a few channels and they were not coming through properly - totally unwatchable, just odd squares of the picture in a black screen, but since we fitted a booster (cost aboput £10) its perfect.

http://www.ukfree.tv/maps.php see this link to see the location of your transmitter, you may be able to work out if you have anything that may block a signal eg. high buildings etc. these may impede the signal at lower levels but not on higher floors.

Is this a good camera?

if it isnt good, any suggestions? the most i can spend is £150

Thanx

Is this a good camera?
I spent weeks researching, and after reading numerous glowing reviews, from consumers, and professionals, it seems Canon PowerShot A series are one of the best, in their class for features. please take a look at this ,

http://www.trustedreviews.com/digital-ca...

The Canon PowerShot A570IS. 4x Optical zoom, 4 x digital, 2.5in Lcd .7.1mp

it has numerous shooting modes,

Kids %26amp; Pets ( for those pictures you want to take when baby/child and or pet wont keeps still for long) Portrait, Landscape, Night Scene, Foliage, Snow, Beach, Fireworks, Aquarium, Underwater, Indoor,Night Snapshot, Stitch Assist

Macro

There is also a training dvd thats available to help you get the most from your camera, available from amazon

http://www.bluecranedigital.com/a570is.h...

I brought it just after xmas, for £109.00 including p+p in the UK @.buyacamera.co.uk

www.buyacamera.co.uk, price is now £94.99

http://www.buyacamera.co.uk/

its also available on www.argos .co.uk for £129.99

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa...

and the image quality, is superb, This camera is a great point an shoot camera, but it also has loads of additional functions, within the cameras manual mode, that makes it a cut above the rest in it's class.

Some of this camera's many features include, face recognition, red eye fix , image stabiliser, movie mode, it can even be used under water, ( with the aid of separate casing) to many to mention here. but really a top little camera, for the money
Reply:in my opinion it would be a better idea to buy CANON A720
Reply:You don't say what you want it for - snapshots or serious photography. Looks ok to me, but you would be best to visit the shop and ask to hold a few cameras in your price range, to see which you were comfortable with. Also, check if the camera includes a memory card or would that be extra. I bought a bigger camera but couldn't take pictures until I bought a memory card for it. (not cheap)
Reply:Get along to Aldi they have a great camera there for £60.
Reply:It should be OK for most everday purposes. The only thing it seems to be missing is an optical viewfinder which you may find useful from time to time, eg in bright sunshine when the screen is difficult to see.

Have a look at a Canon A570 for comparison.
Reply:For everyday photos it will be good

Hows is the sound quality of an iPod?

I am getting an mp3 for my birthday but I am torn between the Sony NWZS618FR (8gb) http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa... getting an ipod classic (80gb). I had an ipod mini but it broke 4 times in one year, the headphones 3 times and I was generally quite dissapointed with the sound, etc. Now the warranty has ran out and I left with a broken ipod mini at the bottom of my drawer.

So the real question has apple improved the ipod's..or are they still crap quality?? The ipod holds way more music for an extra £40... but realistically I wouldn't be carrying 20,000 songs..I don't even have that much!

Hows is the sound quality of an iPod?
sony has definitely better sound quality than the ipods.. ipods just have a gud interface and customer service (so that they can fix broken ipods) ...
Reply:well you should definitely get an ipod because yes they have improved the sound quality. Since you don't have that much songs, i would go to this link to find out which is good for you. http://www.apple.com/ipod/whichipod/

I would suggest an ipod touch if you think you would enjoy it. the interface is better than the other ipods, and you can go on the internet too. it comes in 8gb, 16gb, and now 32gb models
Reply:please dont buy the sony!

ipods have improved drasticaly since the mini. battery life is better build quality has got much better.you will fill the ipod.

i didnt think i would fill my 80gb ipod when i upgraded from the nano. but now its full and im concedering a 160gb

if you use sites like www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer

or http://www.channel4.com/4od/index.html you can get daily tv shows. that fill it up pretty quick :( and you've got to admit that the ipod looks and feels wwwwwaaaaaaaaayyy better....i mean doesnt it?
Reply:I've had my 30 gb ipod video for over a year and I haven't had any problems with it, I love my ipod, and I think the sound quality is as good as it can get.
Reply:i had an ipob mini a while ago,

%26amp; i absolutely HATED all of the terrible problems i had w/ it..

but i now have a video ipod

%26amp; the quality is soooooooo much better.

i think they worked all the kinks out after tht generation.

Shaver Help?

would i need shaveing cream with this shaver and does it cut you

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa...

Shaver Help?
No cream is needed with this razor. And if you keep the case covered, you shouldn't get cut. At least, from my experience with electric razors, I don't get cut. Occasionally, though, a hair gets pulled out and that hurts but no cuts.
Reply:no man, no cream is needed. some can cut you depending on the type you get but it is very rare. Welcome to manhood
Reply:No cream is needed for this type razor. It should not cut you but it will pull hair if blades are not sharp.
Reply:No shaving cream required but if you want a really close shave try applying some pre-electric to your face before you shave. It acts as a mild lubricant and makes the hairs stand up so you can cut them much closer.

Help with buying an HD TV?

I got an Xbox 360 for Christmas and I want a HD ready TV to go with it. I thought that there is no point playing it on a ordinary dull and boring 21 inch TV that cost me 100 pounds. I don’t mind if its only 21 inches but I want a really good quality TV. My budget is 250-400 pounds (MAX), and also what does all this 1080i and 1080p mean and what brands should I look at.

I was looking at this TV made by Samsung, can I get anything better within my price range

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa...

…..Thanks

Help with buying an HD TV?
Well i will start by answering your question about 1080i and 1080p. 1080p is better beause it has more pixels but for the size of tv you are looking to purchase there will be little if any difference in picture quality between 1080i and 1080p. I wouldn't reccomend that samsung as i have a hd samsung myself which i am not impressed with and the contrast ratio is only 700:1. If you shop around on the net yu should be able to get a decent 26 inch for the top end of your budget i.e. http://www.digitaldirect.co.uk/products_... This is a brilliant tv from sony with excellent picture quality and surround sound effects. Notice the 6000:1 contrast ratio which is vital for good picture. Best advice is shop around-i only found this quickly and try using price comparison sites.

Is this a good digital camera to buy?

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa...

If i also buy the 512Mb SD Memory Card

http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores...

Is this a good digital camera to buy?
my friend has a Vivitar digital camera and he is not complaining about it, also 3.2 MP is not bad. they should have a return policy so if you didn't like the camera return it for a full refund.
Reply:Vivitar does not manufacture anything. They contract with various companies and put their name on the products. Since Vivitar has been around for a very long time there is some degree of "trust factor" associated with the name.

At the price you probably can't go too wrong. It looks like a good "starter" camera and who knows - it might kindle a flame and cause you to become a serious amateur photographer.
Reply:Its ok not great. A begginner camera that will get the job done. Not much to the camera and looks easy to use. Never heard of the brand so dont be suprise if it is cheesy. But if u like it then go for it.
Reply:it will do

if that is what you like

go for it
Reply:I dont know sorry

Is This a DIGITAL TV ?

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa...

IS this Samsung TV Digital Aswell As HD ?

Because im confused. Does HD mean it IS digital aswell. Or is HD %26amp; Digital Different ?

Anyway. I would only buy this if its digital. Is it ?

Is This a DIGITAL TV ?
It's described on other sites as a PC monitor with built in UHF tuner, It's not a digital tuner but could display digital from a set top box or Sky. Have a look at this site.

http://computers.pricegrabber.co.uk/flat...

or this one;

http://www.shop.bt.com/productview.aspx?...
Reply:they will tell you that before you buy from them or try asking before you decide.
Reply:I looked at the description. It's an HD TV, but does not have a built-in HD Tuner. That's why it's described as "HD Ready." I have an HD ready set as well. I have to get the HD signal from my cable box.

The first answerer had it right as far as describing the relationship between HD and Digital
Reply:All HDTVs are digital but there are digital TVs that are not HD. If it says HD your good to go. But if it just says it's digital watch out.

What do I need for my new gaming room?

I'm Saving up and my dad has agreed that I can turn the spare room into a gaming/multimedia room. I have a wii and I'm saving for an xbox 360, ive found the perfect tv. Can anyone reccomend a good surround sound system for upto £40? Do you reccomend any other things for a great games room?

The Tv:

Mikomi LCDW19HD 19in HD Ready LCD TV:

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa...

Xbox 360 premium.

What do I need for my new gaming room?
I would pass on the sound system for now and purchase a bigger HD television. Depending on the size of your room, I think a better television would be more important than the sound system at this point (always upgrade later). Finding a cheap 24-32" monitor shouldn't be that hard, and your eyes will appreciate it (plus you won't have to sit so close and friends could play too).
Reply:in response to r b comment about BOSE....that stands for Better Off with Something Else!!!!!

They are overated by a long way....Just because Bose is biggest speaker manufacturer in the world doesnt make them the best.....GM is the biggest car builder....not the best!

I use Speakercraft speakers all the time.

Save for a Onkyo receiver...wont be dissapointed.
Reply:Logitech makes good setups, and I have some decent speakers that are Altec Lansing. I'm not sure about the conversion, but you should be able to get decent gaming speakers for 70 - 90 USD. Check your chain electronic stores, or even dedicated gaming stores like EB or Gamecrazy.
Reply:Don't know how much they cost, but save long enough to get the BOSE sound system. It's all you will ever need.

Orange phone in italy?

hi there,

i'm dyin' to buy this phone:

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa...

but i have a question:will i be able to use it back in italy with my italian sim?(and a plug adaptor of course)

thanx

Orange phone in italy?
It'll certainly work in Italy, however, you'll have to get it unlocked so it will work with your sim.

If you do buy it, try smaller independent mobile retailers for unlocking, they usually charge around £10 to take the sim lock off.
Reply:Yes the phone have mentioned will work in Italy you may have to have it "unlocked" unless Orange operate in Italy, to take your Italian sim,pop in to a dealer they will give you some help on that question. When you register your phone Orange may have all the info you require.

Are iTronics any good?

I may get an iTronics mp3 player an i wanted to know if anyone else has one %26amp; if it's any good.

I'm getting a 4gb for 30 quid are they good quality?

I dont mind if the battery life is short, but do they like break easly or freeze non stop?

Someone help, thanks :]

there were im getting it from :]

Are iTronics any good?
I had an 2GB flash player from iTronics. The sound quality is quite good (x-bass feature), even better with decent headphones.

It never froze, but I made the mistake of putting it in my trouser pocket whilst gardening, when I took it out, the front had cracked, my fault really.

Also check out a brand called Aigo (from Amazon.co.uk), these seem a little more sturdy.
Reply:My Kids both have iTronics Players and they have given me no grief over them at all !

I would say that they are fantastic value for money. They are not going to have the sound capabilities of an iPod (even the shuffle) but they are more than good enough for the price.

I'm typing this whilst listening to my iPod. It cost @£185 (30gb Video) but the music held on it cost over £2000 and its not even nearly full ! The sound is fantastic and I'm happy. The choice is yours, buy a cheap player and enjoy your music, or buy an expensive player and still enjoy your music!

Its more about the Music than the player!

Mini Digital Picture Keyring help?
I bought one of these also and they are totally JUNK!!! IT is just another cheap toy that manufacturers can make a quick dollar off of us people that thinks it will be something really neat. And then we get it and its just crappy. mine had picts. on it but they were blurred beyond recognition and then someone in a electronics store told me that they don't work unless you have software that makes your pics. compatible with this keychain. which i found to be stupid. But hey it is a great idea but getting one that actually works is going to be a tough one. Maybe you will find out some more info then what I was told!! Good Luck!!
Reply:It's broken, or, your photos are in the wrong file format.
Reply:This is not much more than a toy ... it may not even have the resolution of a cell phone camera.

Take it back and get a different one and see if it works

Nintendo DS and internet/Wifi connection...(read on)?

I dont understand how it works...

if I buy this http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa...

will it just connect to my PCs wireless connection or do I need something else?

Also when it is connected will it be internet on the DS just as it is on a PC

(Im asking for my daughter...wil I be able to get her on to say nick Jr website to play games online there?)

Nintendo DS and internet/Wifi connection...(read on)?
If you have a game that supports Nintendo WFC, such as Mario Kart or Animal Crossing, you can check if your DS will connect to your wireless connection by setting up a connection in one of those. ( For more on WFC, see http://www.nintendowifi.co.uk/global/ind... )

You will need to be using the older WEP encryption, not the newer WPA.

Opera DS doesn't, from what I gather, support Flash, so the games won't work.
Reply:You can connect to your PC's wireless, but it's quite advanced to do and requires using ICS (internet connection sharing). My suggestion would be purchasing the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector. It's got a step by step guide to getting your DS connected to the internet. As far as the Nintendo DS Internet Browser, it's limited in it's capacity to display and interact with internet multi-media, including, but not limited to flash and shockwave applications. Ideally the Nintendo DS Internet Browser is good for reading some news articles, checking most web mail, and interacting with forums.
Reply:I dont know either i dont get it have you got a nintendo ds lite%26gt;?
Reply:Setting up the Wifi connection on a Nintendo DS is not complicated at all if you already have wireless internet set up in your house. Almost any wireless modem or router will work for this, and if you don't have a wireless setup you can purchase the USB adapter to connect to the internet. If you are running a secured wireless network in your home, the DS Wifi also has WEP key support, so you can keep your connection secure but still enjoy the freedom of wireless.

One thing you will want to note though, you will need a seperately sold Nintendo DS Browser to surf the web (and access sites like Nick Jr online). If you plan on doing a lot of web surfing and would like a little bit faster loading times, you may want to also purchase a memory expansion pack for your DS. This is a small cartridge that fits into the Gameby Advance slot in your DS, so it is completely usable with the web browser.

One thing to note however is that the browser does not have things like windows media player so you will not be able to watch videos on sites like Youtube. You may want to investigate further about wether it would have the ability to run the games on the Nick Jr website (I'm assuming Flash games). It may be beyond the limitations of the browser, I'm not 100% sure myself.
Reply:ypu will need a wireless router
Reply:this is what you need -

.Wireless Internet

.DS game system

.a Wifi game

then it will be able to access the online features on the game ! ! ! ! Go to the site below
Reply:all you need is a ds and a wireless connection and your good to go.

What kind of friction is it when a fish swims through water??

a.static friction

b.sliding friction

c.rolling friction

d.fluid friction

What kind of friction is it when a fish swims through water??
Process of elimination -

Static friction is what keeps your chair and desk from sliding around the room.

Sliding friction is what makes you have to keep pushing when you move your desk. It's less than the push you had to use to get the desk moving though.

Rolling friction - would be how much push you had to use if your desk was on wheels - less again than the other 2

Fluid friction would apply if your desk was floating in a swimming pool and you were pushing it through the water.

So which one sounds like it would apply to fish? ;-)

Is This A Good Camera?

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa...

what would you say are the bad points and good points of this camera, the specs are listed in the link

Is This A Good Camera?
It is a good camera with one of the larger optical zooms (5x) and large sensor (as well as a pixel of over 10MP).

The only bad point is that it does not have true IS .. what it has is what is called "anti-shake" which is really a scheme that allows the ISO to automatically increase to a higher sensitivity so the camera shoots at a higher shutter speed.

As long as you know that and take it into consideration, it is an excellent value
Reply:Kamran. I have an Olympus FE-230 Its a little more than the Samsung. I brought mine here but in the UK you can get one for just over £100. Its nice and slim, easy to use and is 7.1 megapxel. It comes with a good rechargeable battery (with charger) which lasts far longer than the small AA batteries You will find all the information by typing its name in Google I would fully recommend it
Reply:It looks ok but the batteries dont last long in a camera so one with a built in lithium battery would be better.

Hot air stylers???

does anyone use these? like this one http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa... i want one, not to strnaighten my hair but just to blow dry the top sections of my hair instead of having to use a hairdryer and round brush

Hot air stylers???
...only if your hair is thin. i tried this several times when i was a teenager and my hair got tangled around the darn thing every time!!!
Reply:yes I wouldn't be without mine - I still blow dry after shampooing but use my hot brush in between shampoos.

Who can reccomend:?

A good telescope? I'm looking around or below £100, so the ones like in the argos catalogue, what kind of view will they get me? Will they let me see clouded stars, planets, moon in detail?

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa...

http://www.jellydeal.co.uk/national-geog...

http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.100-8014.asp...

.etc

Who can reccomend:?
GET BINOCULORS.

Cheap telescopes are rubbish. The quality of the optics is so poor that even if they nominally have a good magnification you won't actually see much with them. Don't be fooled by what you can see in daylight. At night there's much less light coming in so all the problems show up.

Your best bet is to buy a decent pair of binoculors. 7x50 is best for astronomy, being a good compromise between being light enough to hold comfortably, but good enough to see well. Don't be tempted to get birdwatching binoculors that have small lens apertures - at night you need to get as much light in as possible.
Reply:The previous answers are true. However, I took a look at your choices and would say that the Argos is the best of the three. It looks heavier (more stable) and appears to provide ease of use. All this is relative of course to the small amount of money you plan to spend. Perhaps you should consider a good used telescope. Lots of folks are getting new "go-to" scopes and are selling their old ones. Good luck.
Reply:You're not going to get anything worth buying for that kind of money.

The usual advice holds: hook up with local astronomers and see what is possible. Don't spend a penny until you have also done some research with any of the classic references, like Nightwatch.

Consider binoculars: for your budget you can get very good ones, and they are a powerful tool for exploring the sky. The Orion StarBlast scope is highly recommended as well, but may be crowidng your budget.

Only buy from a telescope store.

Addendum: the Argos Celestron scope is indeed the least worst of the bunch, but it's no prize (undermounted, among other things). And any telescope sold by magnification, as this one is, is _a priori_ junk.

**AND BELIEVE ME, SON, YOU NEVER GET A SECOND WARNING!!**

**You studied English... the drop-out subject... LEARN IT QUICKLY, Bachelor Boy..... because by the time you MASTER in it... you could well drown in your BATH!!
Reply:You cannot get a good telescope for under £100 !!

Try getting a pair of 10 x 50 binoculars..
Reply:you wont be able to get a brand new one for under 100 pounds but you will be able to get a near brand new one of ebay.co.uk for under 100 pounds probably

Is this SD Card compatible with this digital camera?

Hi i might purchase this memory card if its compatible with my digital camera. The thing is don't know whether it will work.

Can someone please tell me?

Digital camera:

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa...

SD Card:

http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electron...

Is this SD Card compatible with this digital camera?
According to these specs, YES it is compatible

http://www.trustedreviews.com/digital-ca...
Reply:Yes it is.

However you would be better using smaller size 1gb cards. the camera has to read through the whole card every time you take a snap, the the bigger the card capacity the longer it takes before you can take your next photo especially as the card gets fuller.
Reply:Don't know for sure ,but...On the PLAY.com page...click,'See All Reviews'..there's one by a 'St3veo',which says...'Bought it for my Kodak EasyShare Z1275 12.1 Megapixel Digital Camera and very happy with it, great value for money.'.....If I had this camera and was thinking about that card,I'd go with that...and your camera supports SDHC...
Reply:Online review claimed they tried with a 4g card, but camera seemed to recognise it only as 2g with 29 mins continuous shooting.. A fantastic buy though!!..
Reply:Maybe ... there are some cameras that use the 4GB cards, but to really know you would have to check with Kodak.

That said, you may want to purchase two 2GB cards (all newer cameras can use them) Here in the States, 2GB cards are about $25 each, so £25 for two in the UK.

That 4GB card is far too inexpensive ... look for ones made by Lexar, SanDisk, PQI, Kingston, A-Data and the like ... avoid buying them over the Internet.

So which one sounds like it would apply to fish? ;-)

Hair straightener help?!?!?

Well I bought this remington straightener:

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa...

I bought it back in September

so basicly my friend bought a straightner at the same time and she had a problem with hers, the coating of one of the plates had come off, so she went back yesterday and they exchanged it for her!!

Basicly my straightener's lock is broken!! I mean it did used to lock but something happened to it and it kept on locking while i was straightening my hair, and now its completely broken, it won't lock!! So do u think i can try to get an exchange or something as I still have a 2 year guarantee??

Hair straightener help?!?!?
As long as it's within the 2 year guarentee argos will have to do something about it if not they are breaking the law (im pretty sure of it) so i would take them in like as soon as possible and go and ask them about the staightners. I mean there's no harm in trying :)
Reply:Definitely exchange it or better yet, ask for your money back instead and when you are ready to get rid of that brand completely, DO NOT get a chi (1 in 3 of the chi flat irons get returned) get a FHI. They are AMAZING!
Reply:you probably could get an exchange, it's worth the try!
Reply:They should exchange it for you or maybe even fix it.

Also I say next time if you want to get a good straightener for not alot of money get the Remington Wet to Straight.
Reply:Yea exchange it! Make sure you get a nice one too!
Reply:Get a ceramic straightner.... if it's 25 dollars I would expect that to happen
Reply:yes exchange it for sure
Reply:That should be covered in the warranty/guarantee. Take it back.
Reply:Thats what happens when you buy a cheap straightner.

Buy a chi next time.
Reply:i dont know but that straightener SUCKS, get the remington wet 2 straight that one costs just as much (Target) and works 5x better!!! if u want to spend more money for a excellent straIGHTEner i say get CHI
Reply:ok.... for 24 bucks in any country.... your going to get a crappy straightener.... go to conair.comor something like that.... or google conair... and look up their ceramic straightener... :) and if that doesnt work ask yours or your moms or a friends hair stylist to get you one at their beauty supply shop... or try sally's beauty supply... :)
Reply:i should think so. it does have a guarantee. just hope you didn't try to fix it. they should exchange especially if you still have a sales slip.
Reply:you should if it has not been 2 years

Wireless Mouse and Keyboard?

I'm thinkig of buying this mouse and keyboard

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa...

But i don't understand it properly. Will i need to buy anything else? Like things that plug into my pc so that the mouse and keyboard can be detected? Or will they come with the package? And will they run off batteries?

It confuses me! Thanks.

Wireless Mouse and Keyboard?
Well, everything should be included in the package. A reciever, to detect and communicate with the mouse and keyboard, which you can plug into the USB and PS port. The keyboard and mouse run off batteries and shouldn't have any wires at all. You ought buy a couple of extra batteries to stand-by as well. My mouse runs out of battery power in about a month but mine's a laser mouse. Yours is a ball mouse and should last quite a while though. Just follow the instructions and all should go well! :)
Reply:They will come with the package and will run off batteries. I have both. :)
Reply:yes, you need to buy receivers that go into your computers usb or ps2 slot. you need to make sure these receivers are compatible with your mouse and keyboard (figure out if the keyboard are usb or ps2). the mouse and keyboard dont run off batteries they need to be plugged into the wall.
Reply:Everything that you needs comes with the package . Don't worry.
Reply:basically wireless mouse or keyboard use USB connectivity, and all of them using batteries. Depends on the products, some other product included the batteries some are not.

Fisher Price Newborn to Toddler Rocker/Bouncer???

What do you think of the bouncer - link below:

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa...

Have you got one? If so, what do you think of it?

Fisher Price Newborn to Toddler Rocker/Bouncer???
We have a Fisher Price one, very similar but doesn't play music, my baby and toddler both love it and in reclined position wee one can have a wee snooze if he just drops off, would recommend it. Our one has a metal frame, that one looks plastic but sure it is as good. Just started weaning too so thankfully cover comes off easy to wash.
Reply:I have this rocker and have found it very useful. We had it from newborn but my daughter would only go in it from 8 weeks. Since then she has loved it, she enjoys the musical toy bar and is able to rock herself. The newborn position is nearly flat but even the position for older babies can recline by undoing the clips at the back. This makes things more comfy when she falls to sleep in it as I just unclip and rest her back. The seat lining does come off and is machine washable. I would recommend this as it is value for money as you can convert it into a stationary chair for a toddler. Hope this helps.
Reply:nope, but I have this one... http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa...

It seems like it's fairly similar. It was great when our son was small, he often slept in there when he wouldn't sleep anywhere else (although he never seemed to care either way about the vibrating function) %26amp; when he was bigger he loved to half sit up %26amp; play with toys %26amp; get a good view of the world. He is now 7 mths old %26amp; the chair is not being used very often as when he drops a toy, he tries to lean down to the floor to pick it up %26amp; even though he's strapped in %26amp; I know it's stable it freaks me out watching him hang out of the chair lol, so he mostly just sits on the floor %26amp; the chair is only used if I'm right next to him rocking it or something, but when he gets older %26amp; learns NOT to hang upside down out of it I will use it more again. I'm sure it will be popular when he is big enough to get in %26amp; out of it by himself %26amp; he has his own special rocking chair.

If the cover of the chair you're looking at is the same setup as ours, it is very easy to get on %26amp; off, %26amp; can just be thrown in the washing machine with normal washing %26amp; line dries very quickly.
Reply:My 7 month old son has this rocker. He's been using it since he was just 3 days old. It's absolutely brilliant.. It rocks, vibrates, plays a tune, has toys which can be detached and it will do him as a chair or rocker right up till he's 3 or 4 years of age. It's so easily washed too.

I have bought a number rockers for my 6 kids over the years but this one is by far the best ive ever bought.
Reply:no i dont but if i would have known about it when i purchased my babies bouncer, i think i would have gotten it. it looks awesome!
Reply:I dont have one of these but my best friend does and she swears by it, her daughter absolutley loves it the vibrate feature it fantastic also...

Would it be easier to paint this white or stain it deep magony?

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa...

Would it be easier to paint this white or stain it deep magony?
It will not take a stain as it cannot soak in. You could apply a stained varnish but it will probably look awful and the background will grin through.

Lightly rub the entire surface with a fine abrasive paper, grade P120. This is important as this is all the paint will have to grab onto. Put a coat of Bulls eye 123 or Prime-it plus on first. These are water based primers that will adhere better than ordinary paint. Then I personally would apply an oil-based undercoat and two coats of white Dulux Satinwood. Applied with a brush and spread out with a 4 inch foam roller THIN coats.

It is a surpising lot of work and coats. Get it done long before baby arrives so that fumes evaporate.

(Edit) just noticed your possible intent to paint the cot. No-one is really sure but paint fumes are released for months or more afterwards so if you can, don't, if you must maybe look at water based wood finishes.
Reply:Similar to the others, but do not sand it first!! if it is melamine or chipboard it will just ruin it. Hunt down Zissner Bullseye primer 123. From good paint stores. One coat of this primer will allow you to paint a satin finish paint (or eggshell - another wipeable paint) over the top of it. Try using a little 6" foam roller or even a paint pad with it to avoid brush marks and get an even finish. Using a wood stain is possible but very difficult and I would try to avoid it.
Reply:Paint it , i do not think it will take a stain as it dose not look like real wood , give it a sanding , a primmer coat , and a finish coat of satin wood
Reply:As said above, that won't stain as it's chipboard not wood, and if you want to paint it, you'll have to sand it first. If you want furniture you can stain or paint, your best bet is Ikea.
Reply:It is only wood look, so wouldn't stain as the stain wouldn't soak in. I would even be doubtful as to painting it.
Reply:I THINK IT WOULD BE EASIER IN WHITE :)

Information on the weighs i am going to buy....?

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa...

i want to buy these set of weights, i have never really done weights before and my mate also recommeneded me a protein product in which u add into ur milk and drink.

i am quiet slim and and was wondering if i buy this set,

how many should i do within a day whilst takin this protein product?

and do protein shakes actually work on slim people?

Information on the weighs i am going to buy....?
If you lift weights you'll add muscle so you may not need to take a protein product. The set you linked is fine, you can use either the barbell or dumbbells for most things but butterflies require the dumbbells and curls are more effective with them, too. Free weights don't work your legs very well so you may want to consider a gym if that's important to you.

The key to weight lifting is to warm up first and then vary the number of repetitions (reps) based on your goal. To add bulkier muscle do fewer reps with heavy weights, as much weight as you can lift 6-8 times. For leaner muscle do 10-12 reps but in either case the last rep should be hard for you to complete. Do at least 2 or 3 complete sets every other day, lifting on consecutive days will increase risk of injury and it's actually counter-productive as your body needs a day off to recover. You can still do cardio, calisthenics or other exercise on your "off" days. Your routine should move from arms to back or legs and so forth, to give each muscle group a chance to recover before using that group again.

You can lift just 2-3 times a week if you need additional time for your muscles to recover, weight training stresses the muscles and if you're lifting heavy weight you may need to take a break of 2 days between sessions.

There are many weight-gain products available but changing your diet is simpler and usually cheaper, too. Just add some extra protein to your diet, not sugars or carbs but protein to facilitate your weight training, just drinking more milk or eating a couple of hard-boiled eggs a day will make a difference. I've never tried these products myself, they've worked for people I know to help them gain weight.

What do you think of this as engagement ring?

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa...

I really like it personally. Haven't seen it in store yet, would it be very small? What is argos jewelerry like?? I've had a look at other jewellers for ring very similar but way out of price range!

What do you think of this as engagement ring?
Personally Emerald cut is my favourite shape, its different and definitely not boring!

I think you should definitely try the ring on or at least see it up close to see the size of the diamond as only you know how big you want it to be.

If you go to the shop they should also tell you about the quality of the diamond so you know what you're getting. P.S its worth reading up about it before hand on the Internet so you will know what they're talking about and so you don't get tricked into buying a bad quality ring

Below is a website telling you about diamond quality

http://24carat.co.uk/diamond4csframe.htm...

Please note that a clarity of vs1 or above is very hard to come by and extremely expensive. The same goes for a colour of H and above.

Hope this helps
Reply:Im sorry but you are here for an honest answer it is a really nice ring but i dont think i would want to be my engagment ring...

Sorry Goodluck!
Reply:I think it's lovely, and not small at all.
Reply:I like how the ring has simple, clean lines. Its hard to say whether it would be small or not. The most important thing is the sparkle (quality of diamond), though. Definitely look at it in person. That cut of diamond does not look good on everyones hand.
Reply:I think its really nice. Go into Argos andget them to show it to you. I dont think it is too small for an engagement ring
Reply:It's a lovely ring, but do make sure you see it in the flesh before you think about buying it.
Reply:Oh my god, that is really beautiful. Good luck, good life.
Reply:In the photo, it looks like it would be miniscule--which may suit your lifestyle and size of hand. OMG! Their interest rate is obscene--don't go that route no matter what you do!
Reply:I really like that cut of stone, do try it on though, I tried a similar shape stone and it didn't suit me at all, they can look quite different on.
Reply:A beautiful and simple ring. I would try it on my hand if I were you - unless he's surprising you. If that's the case, and you love him, can't imagine your life without him, want to grow old with him, can imagine making love to him when your old and gray, would die to save his life - take what he gives you. It will be from his heart and last a life time.
Reply:I don't like the cut of the stone.
Reply:Its a nice one and costly too. I think its a good choice both for the ring and the person giving you bcos he has to be rich to give it to you.
Reply:1/4 carat is fairly small, BUT if that is what the budget allows and you like it - - that is all that matters.

Please do not be one of those gals that won't accept a marriage proposal because you think your husband-to-be can afford a larger ring.
Reply:go into the shop and try it on, see what you think o fit on your finger, i had one chosen and when i went to try it on i changed my mind and found another one. it depends how it feels on you. remember you will wear it always!

good luck and enjoy
Reply:I am not crazy about an emerald cut, I prefer the sparkle of a round stone. They also don't provide alot of info on the specifics of the stone like the cut, colour and clarity. I have referred you to bluenile, my engagement ring and wedding ring came from bluenile in the US, and they are just brilliant.

I took the liberty of selecting a similar setting and the budget of the stone similar to the total price of the ring in the link that you provided. I love bluenile because you can actually see the size of the stone (and they are all certified as well). Happy shopping!

http://www.bluenile.co.uk/diamond_search...
Reply:ARgos jewelry is really nice.

I think you should go for it... it is 300 pounds after all... if

u think she will be pleased then yea!
Reply:I would go to some jewelry stores and try on similar rings with a 1/4 carat stone. That will give you an idea of how it will look on your finger. I would email the web site and ask some questions about the diamond in the ring. What is the cut, color and clarity of the diamond in the ring. The reason it's so inexpensive compared to others you've seen in jewery stores is because it is a much lesser quality stone. But you need to find out that information in order to see what a similiar stone in a similiar setting will look like.

Is it Safe to Sleep in a Garden Luxury Cabin ?
As i work for a company that erects log cabins, they are totally safe to live in. With the right insulation and plumbing and electrics, makes a great place to live.
Reply:Luxury cabins are unsafe. You should by a Utilitarian model with airbags and seatbelts.
Reply:What do you mean by "safe"? If it's properly assembled, it shouldn't fall down around you. It would probably be too cold in the Winter, but it wouldn't be sensible to light a fire in it. What burglar is going to find it worthwhile to rob someone who has to live in a shed? Living in it would probably violate the Health %26amp; Safety laws, anyway.
Reply:You probably couldn't live in one legally - no plumbing, etc - I think building regulations might come into it. You could use it for the odd night though.
Reply:You can put locks on the doors same as a house. But: will you have electricity, plumbing, sewer, heat/cool, etc... ?
Reply:you didn't specify dimensions or optional extras. if the cabin is heated and plumbed then it is safe to live in. a lot safer then other accomodation i have stayed in throughout the globe

Hi sorry this probley sounds really stupid but is this (link below) a Masthead TV Amplifier? thanks?

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa...

Hi sorry this probley sounds really stupid but is this (link below) a Masthead TV Amplifier? thanks?
Yes it is a RF amplifier....it does not require a separate amp at the masthead with the power supply located indoors, so you don't have to climb up on the roof to install it....

Nice design.....
Reply:yep
Reply:Nope.

A masthead amplifier is fitted at the source - ie the head of the external aerial mast.

This is a simple RF amplifier. It is fitted indoors and the strength of the signal depends on the length of run from the aerial. If the aerial coax is worn or damaged or old, or the signal is disrupted by other external factors (proximity to electricity pylons, etc.) the signal getting to the amplifier will be weakened and the signal-to-noise ratio will still be poor.

As long as your external aerial is new-ish and the cable is also fairly new, then you should have no problem.
Reply:NO NO NO it is not a masthead amplfier a masthead amplifier is a small box that is attached funnily enough on the mast as close to the actual aerial as possible.and is is accompanied by a small box that is placed behind you tv and plugged into the mains and tv and this supplies the power to the masthead amp. YOU cannot have one without the other what you have is booster box which is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard
Reply:keep your coax as close to 10mtrs as possible.optimum length.

Which of these cameras is best?

Which of these cameras is best?
i like the 2nd but kodak is a better company thing so yea........ gl!!!!
Reply:You select brand

Nikon Digital Camera - Coolpix P5100-12.1 MP %26amp; 3.5X Optical Zoom
Reply:Kodak...for sure
Reply:Kodak EasyShare Z1275 12MP Digital Camera kodak is far more the best.
Reply:hey mayb d samsung 1
Reply:kodak
Reply:Hmmm I'm very skeptic of what a 12 megapixel pocket camera can do on low light condition. On even the best pocket camera (the Canon Powershot G9, they are prone to noises even on not so dim condition. The ISO 3200 in the Kodak will be pretty much useless especially with that kind of resolution.

The Samsung is pretty much similar - 10 megapixel is pretty high for a pocket camera, and I would think they would produce noisy picture on low light condition too.

So basically, they're pretty much comparable. The Samsung probably is better because of the lower resolution, but if I were you, I'd pick a Canon Powershot A570 IS instead. It doesn't have a resolution as high as the two you mention, but you'll be thankful for that.
Reply:the s1050 is the better camera
Reply:the kodac one cuz it has internal memory anti blur has the same definition power has red eye fix and more zoom power that the samsung one
Reply:try looking into sony products they are the best
Reply:The Kodak.... but i have experienced some printing problems with the predecessor to that Kodak

Recommendations on Hoovers please?

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa...

Does anyone have one of these hoovers? If you do is it any good for the price?

Believe it or not I have never had to buy a hoover as my mum gave me her old one when I moved out and it's just broke after all these years! Can only really afford one around this price or am I kidding myself and I really should be spending more on one? (Bit of a hoover buying novice!)

Thanks in advance!

Recommendations on Hoovers please?
When you buy a vacuum cleaner, you get what you pay for. Buy cheap, buy twice!.

The best for cylinder are, without doubt, Miele. They will cost you slightly more but will last 20 years. Try buying online and I am sure you will get one in your price range.

For uprights, the best are Sebo. Nothing comes close to them for reliability, cleaning and dust filtration( very good if you are asthmatic) and longevity. These will last 20 years.

Again shop around, online you can buy them for around £180. I did see a second hand one on Ebay and the bids had past £80. Still worth it.

Why everyone recommends Dyson is beyond me. They breakdown, the hoses split, they are heavy and awkward to use.

They are too big to go under furniture. OK, they don't need bags, but they do need filters and at £6 each (2 in each machine) they ain't cheap.

Just a footnote. I drive a refuse wagon and we regularly pick up knackered Dysons. I counted 24 at the tip the other day. What does that you tell you.
Reply:Hey oop...is this a mucky question, luv!

But seriously...got a 'bum' Dyson called a Durabrand cyclonic. Your ma must have looked after her Hoover good stylee, but it must be said that other floor-cleaners have become top performers now. as I say, this pretend-Dyson I have is a stormer, and (whoopie)...don't even have to buy bags. Sorted!

Here, pet - just had a look at your Argos page, and it seems Hoover now are bringing out bum Dysons - if you just luv the Hoover name, go get it!
Reply:can not answer your question but can add if you want the job done properly never let the husband do it

regards x kitti x
Reply:We got a Dyson a couple of years ago and it's great. No bags, excellent suction, and it is very easy to store. I don't think I'd go back to any other brand.
Reply:Meile is the best- costly but will lat 20 years and do a good job
Reply:a) hoover is a brand of vacuum cleaner and what you are looking at is not a hoover

b)try comet the best vacuum i have ever had is a meile vacuum it is far better than dysons and the like, it is light weight and it is only 129.99 pounds!

c)enjoy !!!
Reply:You would be better off with a Henry hoover. These last for absolutely ages my mums had hers for 17 years and it survived a fall down the stairs!! they are around £100.
Reply:get one of those hoovers that look like they have a face, better than a dyson or anything else.
Reply:That seems a pretty good, average price. I believe Vax vacuum cleaners are pretty good. Another good place to buy them is the shopping channels on the TV., Price Drop 635., Bid TV 644 and Speed Auction 655.

By the way, it is not a Hoover, it is a vacuum cleaner. Only Hoover make Hoovers!

Dyson are the best vacuum cleaners though.
Reply:dyson i think

the small one...i hate the upright one its just so big and difficult for use in the hard to reach areas and the stairs
Reply:I have a Vax wet %26amp; dry. I have had it for years and I would thoroughly recommend them to anyone. It is my second Vax machine. When I say my second it is only because I upgraded and gave the old one to my daughter who had young children.

This one looks as though it is good value for money. I would go for it. If it just a vacume cleaner you want, then there is no need to spend any more than that.
Reply:I have one of those called Henry. You have a handle to wind the flex back in and all the attachments. It's easy to use and wasn't expensive. The lead is very long and so is the hose for the attachments. It has a nice smiley face on it as well. Best I've ever had. I had uprights in the past and they are not as good.

What is NTSC in a TV?

I want to buy this tv

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa...

I read a prev Q%26amp;A re NTSC in DVD's but basically want to know if this will be compatible with a bog standard DVD player bought in Asda last year.

thanks

miss technodunce

What is NTSC in a TV?
NTSC is the analog television system in use in Canada, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, the United States, and some other countries, mostly in the Americas

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ntsc
Reply:there are different types of television systems,

NTSC- u.s.a, canada, japan etc.

PAL-europeetc

SECAM-others etc

thats why you have to buy different dvd players, and games consoles for different places.

The U.K. is PAL, NTSC compatible just means ,that NTSC stuff will work as well.

You DVD player will be fine.

Whitening teeth.................?

surely it can't be as simple as using products like these? http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa... If so then why do people have special whitening sessions when they can just using this?

Whitening teeth.................?
my dentist told me that if your teeth have brownish, beige stains and have chipping or any kind of different colours on them do NOT use these whitening products as they will only show the different colours to an extreme-a few white parts and some "off" whites....some yellow etc. Also if you have major permanent stains embedded in the enamel the whitening process can strip the thin layer of enamel off.No shiney teeth there!
Reply:you are right...these gimmicks don't last... and can cause side effects.
Reply:i love americans- you disgusting dog. yuk... that is so gross.
Reply:dont eat so many sweeties yum
Reply:i think they have a short term effect, but they can kill the enamel on your teeth making them sensitive, whereas exspensive treatments are safer and have a long term effect.
Reply:Some people do not have patience. The teeth whitening system Zoom takes only one hour and makes your teeth 10 times white While other processes may take months to get that white.

Here is the back pack that I am thinking of buying...http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa...

Reply:totally...:)
Reply:i think she will love it and its something she can keep for years and get lots of other pony things to go with it

I think its a good choice
Reply:i would say aboslutely YES! At 5 yrs old, your daughter will develop creative ideas and use her imagination.

These days when technology is geting better and better, there is no more room for using your imagination!

I highly reccommend this toy for your daugter!
Reply:yeh of course she would.......thats nice
Reply:Yes it looks nice, i work for Argos and that is a very popular toy.
Reply:i guess but im a boy so i like BATMAN

but anything pink should be good
Reply:yeah she will make sure she dose not have one already
Reply:Yes! I would if I'm that age ;)
Reply:yeah my mates kid just turned 5 and she loves that kinda stuff, ponies and princesses.
Reply:answer yes------------even my wife said she would like it

Reply:defo go with the ponies!
Reply:Yes, she will love it.
Reply:Yes i think she would love it :)
Reply:Yes, my third daughter just turned 5 and she was given 2 my little ponies (a first for this house even with other sisters). She loved them so much - she also really loves polly pocket.
Reply:I would love it if I was five years old!
Reply:I think so, but there are also a lot of other things they might like. (i have a younger sister who's 5) She loves picture books, as well as early reading kind of books. There are also stuffed animals, and my sis is crazy about them, she has a huge collection. Another option would be a doll. Some popular ones are barbie of course, as well as bratz and polly pocket. oh and one last thing: they seem to love board games (simple ones) like pictionary, zingo etc. hope this was helpful!
Reply:I think so
Reply:definitely a big yes
Reply:yeah sure, especially a gurl (no offence) and coz shes so young she probably fantacises about pony and unicorns :P
Reply:Yes, I think so!

PS3 HELP p3 RATIO 10 POINTS TO GENUINE HELP?

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa...

http://www.us.playstation.com/Support/PS...

Does this TV have the HD requiements ,(must look at both sites)

10 points to genuine help

PS3 HELP p3 RATIO 10 POINTS TO GENUINE HELP?
Yes that TV will work fine, although it is an odd resolution. Probably the odd resolution is it is a PAL tv and I'm an American. I'm guessing it's somewhere between 720i/p and 1080i/p for resolution, so it isn't the top of the line TV. You'd need 1080p to be top of the line, which is the highest resolution the PS3 can output at.

However, it is a HD tv and will work great with the PS3. It has HDMI which is the important thing, so if this tv is within your price range then it should work out just fine.

Hope that helps.
Reply:Yes, all you need is an HDMI socket to use PS3 at HD level.

However you can get 26" HD ready TV's on Ebay for under £250 so I dont think the price is that great.
Reply:What ever TV you buy make sure it has a fast response time 8ms or less and a high contrast ratio of at least 3000/1 or higher.
Reply:yea it has the requirements that needed but remember you need to go out buy a hdmi connections for your ps3 to get the highest resolution!!!
Reply:Yeah this tv has all the requirements needed but so does the mikomi tv that argos is selling in their June sale its only £179.99 and its a 20 inch the cat log no is 529/0578 if you fancy going into argos for a swatch at it

What is the protective carry case got inside because i might put my black ds lite inside, will it scratch?
you can buy special carry case,s for the DS light thy cost £9.99 in the HMVgame shop it will protect it when you play and it is also a carry case i got one for my gran son and he managed to drop it out the car window and the DS was as good as new so thy are well worth buying

Will THIS be OK? 10 Points IF YOU aNSWER?

(cant afford expensive tv)

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/pa...

Plus if i buy this for the ps3

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Venom-HDMI-Cable...

Will these 2 be ok for to get a good picture for the PS3

Will THIS be OK? 10 Points IF YOU aNSWER?
I don't do other peoples links when they are asking a question. My choice as is yours to post them.
Reply:looks ok
Reply:Cheap for a reason. You will find that out when you buy it.
Reply:you gonna give us all 10 points? you're fraudster!! What am i a point wh**e???
Reply:I don't like cheap products. If it is cheap there is apparently something wrong with it. Buy a better quality so you don't end up throwing it out in like 8 months.
Reply:You'll get a good picture but for the best you'll want to get a 1080p (Full HD) tele but they're pretty expensive just now, about £1000 for a good one.
Reply:They will both be fine.

However, I'm sure you can get a better TV for that money, or that TV cheaper. Try PriceGrabber.co.uk it's a comparison site I used to buy my TV. There's some excellent deals and you can check the seller credibility to make sure you're not ripped off.
Reply:This tv is NOT ideal for use with game consoles for sorted reasons. The contrast ratio is only 500:1. That is pathetic. There is no mention of response time which is imperative when playing games. The screen is too small for your purpose. Save up more money and get a bigger screen and better specs.
Reply:I dont know, i dont have that kind of tv. But its sharp, Mabey one day i will.Well injoy your new tv, friend
Reply:Take the PS3 and boot it out the window and buy a real mans consol...The 360!
Reply:tv cool and there nothing wrong with ps3 i have and its great
Reply:Yeah looks as though you can connect the two - but if you scroll down the Argos page, it says that the item is no longer available.

Sorry

BTW I got my new TV from Amazon - amzingly cheaper than Currys %26amp; Empire, you could do worse....
Reply:its a good product but does not have good after sale value.
Reply:They both look good. You should be OK.

Just wondering tho' how are you gonna give every person that answers 10 points?????
Reply:Don't see a problem with them. TV looks good.

Happy gaming

Where can i find a circular steel bracket for a chin up bar??
Your best bet is to try a home center or hardware store. They will sell steel circular brackets for closets. As long as it fits the bar and is rated to hold your weight, just make sure to use long screws to make sure it get all the way to the stud.
Reply:You can use a pipe flange. Even though it has threads on the inside, select one that fits your needs. Just go to the hardware store and ask the clerk to show you the pipe flanges. They come in different pipe sizes.
